HAVE A DRINK: A groundbreaking “drinkable book” with pages that can be used to filter drinking water has been effective in its first field trials. Each page is printed with information on why the water should be filtered, and can be torn out and used to kill bacteria, creating safe drinkable water through the use of nanoparticles of silver or copper in the pages. Through a trial of 25 contaminated water sources in South Africa, Ghana and Bangladesh, the drinkable book pages managed to remove over 99 percent of bacteria.
