POLIO WORRIES IN AFGHANISTAN AND PAKISTAN: An emergency panel set up to monitor the spread of the wild poliovirus met via teleconference earlier this month, WHO said late Monday, and warned of the risk of “international spread from zones” where the virus has been found recently, namely in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
